Construction Updates

(Updated August 2025)

Each stage of construction will be phased in order to minimize disruption to area businesses.

Phase 1A: April - Oct. 2025 will involve some temporary road closures between Craig Street and Susan Campbell Park.

  • Harbormaster Building Demolition

  • Utility and Electrical Work

Phase 1: Nov. 2025 - March 2026 will involve the closure of lower Dock Street between Craig Street and Susan Campbell Park.

  • Craig Street to Susan Campbell Park

  • Prince George St. Park Elevation

Phase 2: Nov. 2026 - Oct. 2027 will involve the closure of upper Dock Street between Randall Street and Craig Street.

  • Resilience work at the top of Ego Alley

  • Working around toward Compromise Street


Deliveries, Pick-ups and Trash Collection

  • Delivery location will be designated along Upper Dock Street

  • Deliveries for lower Dock Street will be accessed via Lower Prince George Street

  • Trash bins will be emptied more frequently to minimize odor and overflow

  • The actual location of trash bins may change as needed to accommodate the construction process.

Noise, Dust, and Disruptions

  • The contractor is responsible for keeping work site clear of debris

  • The contractor will work with Annapolis Police to provide security of the construction site

  • The contractor will work with the Department of Public Works to remove construction debris that may make its way outside of the fenced perimeter

  • Contractor will relay information to business liaison who will make information available for distribution

  • Hours of construction will be Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to dusk. Exceptions to these hours may occur if approved by the Department of Public Works (DPW) with prior notice.

Pedestrian Access During Construction

  • Provide access to Ego Alley boardwalk and Watermark Cruises

  • Throughout construction, Dock Street businesses will be fully accessible to customers

  • Wayfinding to help customers will be well marked

  • Customer pick up and drop off will remain available along Upper Dock Street
